Damages for injured rugby player
31/10/2008
A rugby player has settled his claim for damages after suffering a serious eye injury which left him partially sighted.
Former Moseley player Stuart McKinnon, 39, was injured in a second-team match against Coventry FC in September 2001.
The judge found in his favour, although he ruled one of the two former Coventry players being sued was not liable.
The exact level of damages will be decided at a hearing to be held later this year.
Mr McKinnon launched a claim against Coventry FC and two of its former players.
Coventry FC was bought by new owners in 2006 and is now known as Coventry RFC.
Mr McKinnon, of Upper Quinton, Warwickshire, told Coventry County Court he did not see who struck him.
