Court of Protection
It is not something most of us think about, but were you to suffer a serious head injury and become unable to manage your own finances, how would you cope?
It is likely that a Deputy would be appointed by the Court of Protection to manage your finances for you. Your Deputy will make arrangements with you for such everyday things as:-
- paying your bills
- claiming welfare benefits
- investing money
- budgeting for your future.

- preparing accounts or assisting with court procedures
- in conjunction with the PotterRees welfare benefits adviser, we help clients to apply for relevant welfare benefits, local authority funding and NHS continuing care
At PotterRees Solicitors, our Court of Protection service is available to other firms of solicitors who are conducting personal injury or clinical negligence claims on behalf of clients. Our service is available whether or not we are appointed as Receiver and we offer a service of either a Receiver or assistance preparing reports on Court of Protection costs. We have received such instructions from solicitors and barristers.
